KENNETH M. WOLFE

Ken Wolfe, an attorney and certified public accountant, became Colonial Williamsburg’s senior philanthropic advisor in August of 2017. Previously, Ken led the Foundation’s planned giving program from 1986 until July of 2017, also serving as principal gifts director during the Foundation’s first campaign, and as interim vice president of development from July 2015 until July 2016. Before coming to Colonial Williamsburg, Ken was a financial planner at New England Life in Richmond, Virginia. Prior to that he was an administrative trust officer at Jefferson National Bank in Charlottesville, Virginia, and earlier an auditor with Touche Ross & Company in Washington, D.C., one of the “Big Eight” firms.
An accounting graduate of Michigan State University, East Lansing, he received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from William and Mary Law School. He became a CPA in the state of Maryland in 1978 and was admitted to the Virginia State Bar in 1983. Wolfe served on the Virginia Gift Planning Council Board from 1994 to 2006 (president 1995-1997) and on the Williamsburg Community Foundation Board from 2004 to 2011. He is also past chair of the Williamsburg Regional Library Board. A native of Detroit, Michigan, Wolfe is married and has three sons.
Ken was a faculty member at the University of Richmond’s Planned Giving Institute from 2014 to 2019. He has also spoken on planned giving at the American Association of Museum’s annual conferences, at SSGA’s annual client conference, and at Gift Planning Councils in Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Alabama.
