With more than $100 trillion expected to transfer between generations, understanding the nuances of planned giving and charitable gift planning has never been more critical.  While traditional planned giving programs often emphasize bequests, beneficiary designations, and charitable gift annuities with a focus on older donors, charitable gift planning takes a broader, more inclusive approach.  It empowers donors of all ages to align their personal and family goals, assets, and philanthropic aspirations with the charities most important to them.

The presenter will provide an historical perspective on planned giving in the United States, explore the distinctions between traditional planned giving and charitable gift planning, and share leading practices for building robust charitable gift planning programs that meet donor needs while advancing nonprofit missions.
